Accommodation Project

LOCATION

Loy Yang Mine

CLIENT

AGL

OUR ROLE

Main Contractor

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, AGL engaged us to build temporary site accommodation villages at Loy Yang Mine and power station to allow staff to continue critical operations in a safe and comfortable environment.

The decision was made to install two separate accommodation facilities to accommodate 56 people in each facility.

More than 40 trucks transported buildings from the Northern Territory, Queensland and South Australia, requiring State and Federal government approvals to ensure each building was transported within the strict COVID protocols.

Our experienced team sourced, installed and safely commissioned these villages in 24 days.

Project Delivery Works Included:

  • Detailed earthworks and installation of 2500 tonne of crushed rock to create the building hardstand areas.

  • Installation of 28 self-contained accommodation buildings.

  • Installation of 2 commercial kitchens.

  • Installation of covered walkways.

  • Connection of potable water supply

  • Connection of wastewater drainage system.

  • Installation of detailed electrical and communication systems.
