OUR ROLE

Main Contractor

The thirty-seven-day Dredger 15 Outage completed in December 2022 saw the replacement of the twelve-meter slew ball path, the crawler steering, spherical and fixed pivot areas, along with numerous independent structural inspections, painting and blasting activities, specialist cleaning, fire service repairs and complex scaffolding tasks utilising AGL owned scaffolding equipment.

This was the first time in AGL Loy Yang Mine’s history that the embedded mine maintenance contractor has delivered the entire scope of outage works from concept to completion, with a total of 10,867 hours worked across six day working weeks of ten-hour day shifts and ten-hour night shifts.

Foundation Civil & Mining were proud to partner with AGL to support this historical milestone. Our diverse expertise across all work fronts resulted in dedicated coordination of all works, clear accountability, improved pre-outage planning, simplified communication and seamless execution.

Our team designed, established and managed the site village and amenities throughout the entire outage. Initiatives including specialised walkways were introduced for the first time at Loy Yang to improve safe work practices and reduce associated costs in labour and materials.

We partnered with the AGL Outage Team to deliver all works on time, under budget and with zero harm and injuries to our people.
